FOUNDER / CEO

Alan is a seasoned veteran in the audio-video (AV) industry with over two decades of experience. Starting his career at Circuit City as a sales associate at the age of 19 in 1999, he quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the head of the Custom Installation Department at Cambridge Sound Works. With his experience and passion for the industry, Alan acquired his C-7 Low Voltage California Contractors License in 2006 and went on to found Alan Hutchings Installation (AHI) in Palo Alto. Under his leadership, AHI became the Angie’s List Super Service Award Winner in Home Theater and Audio/Visual from 2011-2014, with Alan showcasing his custom turnkey solutions through a show-home he built.

Before founding Spectrum AV, Alan honed his skills as a Project Manager and Systems Designer at Audio Video Integration (AVI) in Marin, where he doubled the company's revenues and designed systems for over 100 projects. With his deep understanding of the physics and science of luxury AV designs, Alan has established himself as a leader in the industry and continues to innovate and bring quality and luxury solutions to his clients.

Outside of his career, Alan is an avid mountain biker and founded a ride club (Trail Warriors MTB) to broaden the community. He lives in Marin County with his wife.

TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR / PROJECT MANAGER

Miguel is our expert technical supervisor with years of advanced experience in AV. He was born in Mexico and came to the United States in 2008. From a young age he was interested in networks and IT, and has a passion and drive for technical work. He created his own network server at age 15 with his friends in Mexico for gaming. His initial career goal was to become an engineer, but he wanted to gain field experience. He got a job in the technical field and became an electrician apprentice at 20, while studying electrical engineering at Santa Rosa State.

He became a CNC operator, based on his engineering background and later worked as a contractor at Comcast. He moved up and was promoted into a position at Corporate Comcast Business Class. From there be become a technician at Audio Video Integration (AVI) and quickly was promoted to Lead Technician.

At Spectrum, Miguel is our highly skilled Technical Supervisor and Project Manager and leads the technician team as chief installer. He drafts projects as a designer in our project management department. Outside of his career, Miguel loves sports— he plays soccer on two teams in the Bay Area and supports Chelsea F.C. He also competes in fencing tournaments.

Twin Hills Construction Inc. consists of brothers, Andre and Sean Basiliades and are based out of Novato, CA. They are equipped to handle any of your general contracting needs. From light remodel to new construction, fences, decks, doors, windows, bathrooms and kitchens, THCI will strive to go above and beyond to see the job to its completion.

Preferred Electrical Contractor

As a member of IBEW Local 6, Matt has worked multiple locations in San Francisco including offices in the financial district, Dolby sound studios and office, hospital for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. Rotated every 6 months. Matt has extensive experience with residential electrical systems including lighting and power circuits. As a preferred sub contractor of spectrum AV, Matt has collaborated with us to install 240 volt circuits, outdoor lighting circuits and electrical work outside of our expertise. Using a skilled contractor like Matt allows Spectrum AV to include electrical work with confidence that it is done to the highest of standards.
