FOUNDER / CEO

Alan is a seasoned veteran in the audio-video (AV) industry with over two decades of experience. Starting his career at Circuit City as a sales associate at the age of 19 in 1999, he quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the head of the Custom Installation Department at Cambridge Sound Works. With his experience and passion for the industry, Alan acquired his C-7 Low Voltage California Contractors License in 2006 and went on to found Alan Hutchings Installation (AHI) in Palo Alto. Under his leadership, AHI became the Angie’s List Super Service Award Winner in Home Theater and Audio/Visual from 2011-2014, with Alan showcasing his custom turnkey solutions through a show-home he built.

Before founding Spectrum AV, Alan honed his skills as a Project Manager and Systems Designer at Audio Video Integration (AVI) in Marin, where he doubled the company's revenues and designed systems for over 100 projects. With his deep understanding of the physics and science of luxury AV designs, Alan has established himself as a leader in the industry and continues to innovate and bring quality and luxury solutions to his clients.

Outside of his career, Alan is an avid mountain biker and founded a ride club (Trail Warriors MTB) to broaden the community. He lives in Marin County.

Project Manager

Tom has been in the Audio Video industry for over 25 years. Working for companies that pushed growth and knowledge which led to starting his own business for two decades. He has taken that knowledge and joined the Spectrum team to continue to pursue his passion for the industry

Technician

With a decade of experience as an AT&T technician, Alan Orum specialized in installing and maintaining high-speed internet services for residential and commercial customers. Known for his technical expertise, reliability, and customer-focused approach, he played a key role in ensuring seamless connectivity and top-tier service across a wide range of installations.

Technician

Tyler spent five years in commercial electrical construction before joining spectrum. His experience includes Architectural lighting, Controls, Access Control and CCTV. Tyler’s love for Home Audio combined with his professional background makes him a great addition to the Spectrum AV team. In his free time he enjoys working on his Car and participating in track days and auto cross events.

IT/Access Control technician

With over 5 years in IT, Cutberto Apodaca specialized in IT infrastructure and Low voltage work. Most recently working as an IT/Access Control technician at Metro Locksmith in San Francisco. Recognized for his strong technical skills, dependability, and dedication to customer satisfaction, he was instrumental in delivering reliable and dependable service.

Licensed General Contractors

Twin Hills Construction Inc. consists of brothers, Andre and Sean Basiliades and is based out of Novato, CA. They are equipped to handle any of your general contracting needs. From light remodel to new construction, fences, decks, doors, windows, bathrooms and kitchens, THCI will strive to go above and beyond to see the job to its completion.

Preferred Electrical Contractor

As a member of IBEW Local 6, Matt has worked at multiple locations in San Francisco including offices in the financial district, the Dolby sound studios and office, the hospital for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. Matt has extensive experience with residential electrical systems including lighting and power circuits. As a preferred sub contractor of spectrum AV, Matt has collaborated with us to install 240 volt circuits, outdoor lighting circuits and electrical work outside of our expertise. Using a skilled contractor like Matt allows Spectrum AV to provide electrical work with confidence that it is done to the highest of standards.
